Terms of Use

The agreement between you and TrueFold.

Last updated: July 13, 2026

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the TrueFold app (“the app”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. Your use of the app is also subject to Apple’s App Store Terms of Service.

2. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with these Terms and the App Store rules.

3. Your responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you store in the app.
  • You are responsible for maintaining access to your device, your device passcode/biometrics, and your Apple Account and iCloud, which protect and synchronise your vault.
  • You agree to use the app lawfully and only to store information you are entitled to keep.

4. Not a substitute for official documents

TrueFold helps you keep a private, personal copy of your information for your own reference and convenience. It is not an official record, and it does not issue, verify, or replace any government or third-party identity document. TrueFold is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any government, issuing authority, bank, or card network. Always rely on your official documents where an official document is required.

5. Your data and recovery

The app stores your data on your device and in your own iCloud, and encrypts sensitive values with keys held only on your devices, as described in our Privacy Policy. Because we never hold your data or your keys, we cannot recover your data or your encrypted values for you if you lose access to your devices, your passcode, or your iCloud. You are responsible for maintaining that access and for keeping your own backups where appropriate.

6. Intellectual property

The app, including its name, logo, design, and software, is owned by us and protected by applicable laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you. The information you store in the app remains yours.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the app. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

9. Changes

We may update the app and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the developer’s country of residence, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your own country of residence grant you additional rights, nothing in these Terms limits those rights.
